Republican Sen. John Cornyn yesterday issued an official statement following President Obama's speech addressing Standard & Poor's downgrade of the U.S. credit rating.
The president spoke Monday after the Dow plunged more than 600 points. Obama sought to reassure investors, declaring that the U.S. will always be a triple-A country," despite S&P's AA+ adjustment.
But Cornyn, who is a member of the Senate Budget and finance Committees, said the "debt crisis is not over."
